This 3-hour workshop (in conjunction with the UMVA Connections exhibition in December) is an introduction to the process of Touch Drawing* as well as an exploration of the ways in which simple drawing methods can be used to help us connect to ourselves, each other and the world around us. Starting with our breath and our internal felt sense we will move from the inside out as we draw our connections with ourselves and with each other. This is not a “learn to draw” class but rather an exploration of ways we can use the lines, shapes and colors to connect to our internal felt sense as well as to the universe around us. In addition participants will be introduced to the profound process of Touch Drawing.
Adult members of the community are encouraged — but not required — to invite a young person in their life (child, grandchild, neighbor) to join them for this fun and accessible experience. It’s a great way to connect with a loved one in a fun and relaxing environment.
Please email me at BarbaraDavisLCSW@gmail.com for more information and to register. The workshop fee, including the cost of materials, is $60/70 per person (UMVA member/nonmember). To register one child to accompany an adult, the cost is $100/115 for the pair. Payment accepted by Venmo, Apple Pay or check.
